Reach each corner of the North Vietnam within 13 days

Day 01: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Mai Hich hamlet – O/N in Mai Hịch

In the morning:

- 08:00 pick up at your hotel for a drive of 3 hours to Mai Chau

- Stopover on the way to admire the beautiful landscapes at Thung Khe pass (the white rock pass) for a big view of the red river delta.

- Lunch at the homestay on arrival

In the afternoon:

- Ride a bike on the paths on the rice paddies among mountains though the local villages.

- Visit a local family to get to know their daily life and typical culture characters of the White Thai minority.

- Enjoy dinner and enjoy the tranquil night in the minority village of the White Thai people.

Day 02: Mai Hich – Pa Co market – Hang Kia village – Son La – O/N in Son La

In the morning:

- Breakfast at the homestay 

- We 30km uphill to the Northwest of Viet Nam

- Visit Pa Co market of the local hill tribes.

- Independently attend the market that known as the most colorful ethnic market of all Northwest Vietnam. It is a fusion of many different hill tribes inhabiting around distinguished them by their different colorful costume dressing such as the Black H’mong, the White Thai…

- After the market, we continue going to visit Hang Kia village that located in the Nature reserve zone

- Visit some local families as well as take photos of amazing breathtaking scenery at the viewpoints.

- Lunch at a local restaurant

In the afternoon:

- Continue driving to Son La with visit and collect captivating pictures from the mountain ethnic minority villages dotted on the way

- Uphill to see the old colonial prison.

- Dinner and stay overnight in Son La.

Day 03: Son La – Dien Bien Phu – O/n in Dien Bien Phu

In the morning:

- After breakfast

- Check out the hotel then continue our drive over Fa Din pass, one of the 4 highest longest passes of Vietnam

In the afternoon: (flexibly if you are interested, you can visit or ignore)

- Visit Dien Bien Phu old-time battle field

- Visit the war remnant museum

- Visit the A1 hill battle

Day 04: Dien Bien Phu -  Muong Lay – Sin Ho - Tam Duong – Sa Pa

- Driving into the deep area of Shin Ho on the hidden road up to the unexplored area.

- Over this thread road is a worth visit to the Heavenly gate and Binh Lu deep valley, partitioned by the Fansipan mountain range and Chinese border a beautiful stretch of road with Silver waterfalls.

- Afternoon arrive in Sa Pa

- Dinner and overnight in Sa Pa

Day 05: Sa Pa Trekking to 4 villages: Ylinh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai village 

- Breakfast at the hotel

- 08:30 Trek down to YlinhHo and Lao Chai village of the black H’mong people.

- After a picnic lunch, keep on alongside Muong Hoa stream, over suspension bridges to Ta Van village of the Dzay people.

- Keep trekking to Cau May (Rattan Suspension bridge) - Giang Ta Chai I. Visit and stay overnight with a local family of the Dzay minority

- With your tour guide and the house owners, we will set up a temporary cooking class to learn how to cook Vietnamese food for dinner.

- Enjoying your dinner and getting to know local typical traditional customs, cultural….

Day 06: Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan - Sa Pa – Bac Ha – O/N in Bac Ha

5 - 6hrs trekking with surprises at what you have never seen before.

- In the early morning you will be sure to be woken up by the households but lucky to see how is their daily life for a new day coming!

- Enjoy some pancakes made by your tour guide’s skillful hands.

- Start a new trek into Hoang Lien Son National Park by more stunning landscapes and other ethnic minority villages dotted further your eyes sigh. Visit Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Dao minority and then continue that trail to Su Pan village for lunch

- Our car picks up and drive to Bac Ha

- Check in on arrival

- On a roundabout trail we walk to Pho village of the Flower H’mong to enjoy traditional folk music, dancing and musical instruments that you will hear traveling in Vietnam.

- Overnight in Bac Ha

Day 07: Bac Ha –  A famous Sunday Market – Ha Giang City – O/N in Ha Giang

In the morning

06:00 breakfast.

- Early morning to go to attend Bac Ha Sunday Market that is regarded as the biggest ethnic market of all Northwest Vietnam with different ethnic minorities in their different colors of clothes, traditional customs and local culture from the Tay, the Dzay, the Red Dzao, the Black H’mong…

- Come to the market for interesting discoveries, as well as getting to know the universal daily life of the hill tribes in Vietnam. Our guide will offer explanations.

- After the market, we go to visit the Palace of the King H’mong

In the afternoon:

- Driver to Ha Giang

- Enjoy a special adventure drive from Bac Ha up to Xin Man and then Hoang Su Phi on the thread road that known to travelers as the house roof top of Indochina, you will catch magnificent landscapes in sleep and local minorities in the original.

- Stopover for photos of the magnificent scenery on the way.

- Check in hotel on arrival

- Dinner and overnight in Ha Giang

Day 08: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van - Meo Vac – O/N in Meo Vac

Dong Van and Meo Vac - the highest frontier points of Vietnam Nation bordering with China, restricted area in the past but lately opening to welcome adventure visitors. Terrain of rugger rock mountains high and sharp, the local people had spent 6 years to construct 20km of road and especially the workers had to hang themselves to work on the rugger rock cliffs during 11 months and finally the road was completed and those workers named this thread road is The Road of Happiness.

After getting the permit to discover the restricted area – Border-frontline.

- 08:30 head upon the unique thread road to Dong Van – among the Park of Karst that recently recorded as the World Heritage. View the fairy bosom and Quan Ba from the top of mountain.

- Visit the Palace of Cat King (the King of H’mong minority) who before 1945 did not support The French in Vietnam as well as Tuong Gioi Thach in China, he took own power and dominated over 70 thousands of H’mong people overall the Northeast-west of Vietnam as his autonomous territory with the capital in Dong Van but after 1945 he followed Ho Chi Minh…

- Lunch in Dong Van

In the afternoon:

- Driver to enjoy the most spectacular landscape of Indochina (Ma Pi Leng Pass) = (kneed-horse pass), this means the pass is so high that all horses passing have to bend their knees to rest by being exhausted.

- Check in hotel on arrival

- Dinner and overnight in Meo Vac

Day 09: Meo Vac – Bao Lac – Cao Bang – O/N in Cao Bang

- Early wake up to observe the local hill tribes from mountain lanes going to Meo Vac market.

- A lucky chance for us to attend the main day market of Meo Vac, a market of colorful clothes of the local hill tribes

- Enjoy a local breakfast at the market

- Say good bye the Park of Geography to reach to Bao Lac

- On the hidden road to Cao Bang

- Check in hotel and overnight in Cao Bang

Day 10: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc waterfall – Ba Be lake – O/N in Ba Be

- Here you can enjoy a fresh swimming in the water base, with a permit included you can see the neighbor China for a moment.

- Visit Nguom Ngao cave

- Leave Cao Bang for Ba Be lake – the typical lake on mountains

- Arrive Ba Be lake – Pac Ngoi minority village of the Tay People

- Enjoy dinner with a Tay minority family where we will stay overnight

Day 11: Babe lake boat trip – Ha Long – O/n in Tuan Chau island

Travel adventurously by overland car for the hidden area with fabulous natural scenery.

In the morning

- Early wake up for a special quite morning coming on the lake and villagers on the village paths will be very exciting and attractive.

- Breakfast at the homestay

- Take a motor boat around the central lake beneath the national park.

- Alongside Nang river to visit Puong cave where you and take a short rest

- Walk to visit Dau Dang waterfall and then continue our boat trip back to Babe lake

- Enjoy swimming in the natural lake

- Boat back to Pac Ngoi village for lunch

In the afternoon

- Drive to Ha Long – Tuan Chau island

- Check in hotel on arrival

- Free time in Tuan Chau

Day 12: Ha Long bay – Lan Ha bay- Anchor for overnight in Lan Ha Bay – O/n on Vega Cruise

11:30 arrive at the wharf on Tuan Chau Island

12:30 Vega crew warmly welcome you on the boat and enjoy a welcome tropical drink under the sun in a pleasant atmosphere before you are taken to your room.

13:00 Enjoy fresh lunch on our luxury cruise (We can cater Vegetarian or Vegan food on your request)

- Cruise on Halong Bay, past beautiful rocky islands and clear blue sea and the spectacular seascapes of Ha Long Bay in the Unique route heading to Lan Ha bay for kayaking and swimming.

- Continue towards Lan Ha bay on the hidden route for different amazing sightseeing, pass by the Dark and Light cave, Frog lagoon, Ba Trai Dao beach, Stick islet, Buddhist statue stone….

- Arrive in Lan Ha bay, the biosphere reserved area of the World for kayaking and swimming 

On each 2 – seat kayak our tour guide will lead you through the narrow lanes of the karst mountains to fishing villages

Paddle under a tunnel grotto a stunning lagoon (depending on the tide sometimes). Here you can swim in the emerald waters or you can also reach some secluded beaches for a while relaxing lying on sand…

Day 13: Lan Ha bay –Viet Hai village – Halong bay - Hanoi – End the tour

 In the morning

06.00 At the crack of dawn, you can walk to the sun deck to experience a spectacular sunrise before having a light breakfast. (Breakfast time: 6.30AM-8.00 AM)

07:00 Tender ship to Cat Ba Island, Viet Hai dock for a bicycle trip to Viet Hai village.

- Ride a bike for 30 minutes on the shadowed paths, enjoying the landscape on the way to the village located in a beautiful valley of the National Park of Cat Ba.

- Visit a local house to get to know about the local people as well as their daily life of work or visit the island school…

- Afterward cycling back and tender to return to the cruise.

- Relaxing on board or swimming in the bay or breathing nature on the large sundeck chairs.

10:30 check out and start cruising on another route throughout thousands of limestone islands and islets, taking precious Uni pictures meanwhile enjoying our tasteful brunch.

In the afternoon

12:10 disembark, say goodbye Halong Bay and drive back to Hanoi

- Estimated to arrive in Hanoi between 15:00 – 15:00

- We will drop you back to Vega office or to your hotel. (in the old quarter)
